Xigent Solutions is currently seeking a skilled technical consultant who will be responsible for the oversight and execution of projects, maintenance, and break/fix support of numerous platforms, networks, and storage devices within Xigent’s service offerings. This person should have five (5) or more years of technical support experiences with servers and services, networks (routing and switching), virtualization, storage, and server operating systems. Primary duties will include maintenance of computer hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty hardware components when necessary. One will be working closely with the users of our services to identify potential issues and fix existing problems. ► Interact with client information technology associates to drive IT outcomes and facilitate the spread of technical and process competency.
► Implement and administer infrastructure solutions that provide core infrastructure including private cloud and integrate with services and systems running in virtual private and public cloud infrastructure.
► Implement and maintain security systems and their associated software, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems and anti-virus/malware software.
► Communicate with team to identify needs, monitoring performance, and troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with network and systems.
► Use your technology acumen to provide input to assist with evaluation of new technologies and contribute to the design, lifecycle management and total cost of ownership of services.
► Continually research new technologies and educational opportunities.
Ensure SLA compliance for hosted services including communication with clients and internal resources on any service discrepancies.
► Manage multiple improvement initiatives within and across clients.
► Monitor and analyze infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity to recommend enhancements to support current and future business requirements.
► Establish standards for the configuration, installation, maintenance, operations and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
► Provide service desk support via resolution of customer specific incident and service requests.
► Provide on-call rotational support.
► Administer equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
► Infrastructure asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
► Create, revise, update, and maintain documentation of environment and operational procedures.
► Maintain up-to-date time entries and expenses for billing and accounting purposes.
► Identify and participate in Service Delivery continuous improvement processes.
► Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in support of Data Center Operations and some hands-on experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS for an organization.
► Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business or a related major is preferred.
► Previous IT Consulting or MSP experience.
► Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco UCS, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server Operating systems, Linux, NetApp, Pure, Nimble, Veeam, Zerto and monitoring tools. Some networking experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki.
► Experience in implementing, monitoring, and repairing complex systems environments.
► Demonstrated proficiency of the following will help you stand out:
– VMware product (vCenter, vSphere, Horizon/View, vRealize
– Cisco UCS blades, Fabric Interconnects and technologies
– HCI (Hyper-converged infrastructure) concepts and platforms (Nutanix, Cisco HyperFlex)
– Storage (SAN and NAS) technologies. Platforms such as NetApp, Pure and Nimble, etc.
– Backup/Recovery and Disaster Recovery technology experience. Platforms such as Veeam, Cohesity, and Zerto
– Experience with Azure Automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools
– Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki
